Doggy Eyes and the Tasty Treat

As I was eating lunch today, I noticed my dog watching me every time I lifted my egg roll to my mouth and this happened:
LUNCH DATE

Little doggy lying there
You just want my food to share.

I see it in your soft brown eyes
"I'd gladly eat your meat and fries.

Will you be eating all that bread?
If you don't feed me, I'll be dead.

You sit there eating and you're fat
This little dog can help with that."

I watch your little tail wag
You watch each chip come from the bag

I see you think it is your right
To half of all my food tonight

You would eat it on the floor
On a plate or out the door.

You'd gladly eat it off a trivet
From a bowl or in the privet.

You would eat it stale or old
Or out-of-date or even cold.

You'd eat veggies salt or sweet
Just to get a little meat

You think you haven't had enough
All you can say is "Ruff ruff ruff!"

I think perhaps I'll let you eat
This teeny tiny piece of meat

Then suddenly you're in my lap
I didn't even hear claws tap

You drool and drool, you want my food
But if you eat this, it's no good.

You can't have chocolate, grapes or nuts
They aren't good for doggy guts.

But how I love it when you smile
I'll give you dog treats in a while.
