National Poetry Month--Day 23--Poetweet--Sharks

Today it's a 280 character poetweet poem. If you're wondering about this form, go here. Otherwise, here's my offering:

Your predatory grin
Your dandy-looking fin
The form so sleek and thin
All don’t help when teeth sink in.
You think you’re something slick
When you chomp your victim—Ick!
But the streamlined way you flick
Through the water splickety-lick
Only strikes my heart with fear
When you draw near.

Poetweet Poem--Lousy Memory--National Poetry Month

It's Poetweet day. If you're not sure what that is, go here. And now I'm going to have to cram everything into 140 tweet spaces, so I'm getting to it.

My memory looks like old Swiss cheese.
Could I have a transplant please?
My mind, unruly as a cat
Goes every which way. What about that?

(Hah! Exactly 140 spaces. And it only took me about 10 minutes and the revelation that I'd forgotten a very important appointment...sigh.)

So this is a Poetweet and I wanted to make sure it worked right on Twitter. Hope it did. If you'd like to know more about Poetweets, go here. If you'd like to know more about honey badgers, there are some great vids on Youtube about them. They're fascinating little creatures and have my deepest respect. You don't mess with these guys and walk away un-mangled.

Day the Sixth--Deep

Today I'm doing a Poetweet. It has to be complete in 140 characters (including spaces) and need not rhyme. Here's my stab at it:

Deep

The iceberg slid sinuously by,
silvery sculpted ribbons raising
jagged crags to slice the sky.
Breathless, I watched it slide past.
Or did it?
