National Poetry Month--Day 25--Tanka Poem--Doggy--Haiku--Doggy

Here's my other Sunday (Haiku) poem:

I stare up at you

With my hugest puppy eyes

I want human food.

If you want to know how to do today's poem, a Tanka (a haiku on steroids), go here. And here's my Tanka Poem:

DOGGY

I stare up at you

With my hugest puppy eyes

You don't understand

How hungry a puppy gets

When chasing lots of tossed balls

Day 4--National Poetry Month--Tanka--The World's Answer, Another Answer

Today the poetry form is a tanka, the grandfather of the haiku. If you'd like to know more about them, go here. And here is my offering:

THE WORLD'S ANSWER TO THE TOUCH OF THE MASTER'S HAND
Buy this old fiddle?
No thanks. I can print my own
That'll look way cool
Besides, I don't play fiddle.
Find your self worth somewhere else.

GOD'S ANSWER TO THE WORLD
I am never far
From your side, my weeping child
Nothing on this earth
Means more to Me than you do
Never let that thought leave you.

Other's sight is short
Bounded by selfish feelings.
They only see self
And how high you help them climb
Be the lantern to light paths.

Tankity Tanka--National Poetry Month

I've done these about twenty five times. Hopefully this time my Tanka poems will stick the way I want them. If you'd like to write your own after looking at my wondrous offerings, go here...;o)

Laundry in the Wind
Clothing on the line
Whips about in frenzied dance
Twisting 'round like live
Just as if inhabited
A Tarantella macabre.

COLORED GLASS
A phalanx of glass
Glittering arrayed colors
Painting the ceiling
 Light through the clerestory
Filling me with joyful peace.

EXHAUSTED

I'm so exhausted
I never get enough sleep

something wakes me up
I should hit the rack sooner
but then I'd miss all the fun.
