National Poetry Month--Day the sixth--Tricube Poems--Eire Green

Hanging out over the Cliffs of Moher--Not scary or anything and it was a lot further down than it looks...;)

Today we're doing Tricube poems. If you're as snowed about them as I am, go here. If you just want to read mine, stay here...;)

Eire green

Fills my soul

I live there

Hiking home to Killarney from Muckross Abbey in the rain

In the air

Music lives

Feeds my love

Give my heart

To that place

sláinte mhaith

(Means to your health.)

National Poetry Month--Day Unlucky--Tricube Poem--Doggie

Today we're doing Tricube poems. Pretty easy to understand but some good examples are here. And here is my spate of them:

Forlornly

Doggy stares

Awaiting

So loyal

Companion

Head on paws

His eyes sad

He longs to

Go outside

To chase birds

And lizards

And mirrors

But he waits

For me to

Remember

How can I

Not drop all

To love him?

We'll go soon

When I'm done

With my work

Patiently

He waits and

Waits and waits

God gave dog

To me for

A teacher

Can I be

as avid

A pupil?

National Poetry Month--Day Thirteenth--Tricube Poem--Dancing Doll

Okay. Now for my tricube poem. Yeah. I didn't know what that was either. So I went here to find out. Here it is:

 Dancing Doll
Wooden toes
Oft you fall

Then you wake
Stretch your limbs
Breath you take

Music starts
Spark catches
In your heart

Violin
Scarred, battered
No value

Master's hand
Fills the air
Sweet music

Now they pay
For magic
Now they see.

National Poetry Month--Day 12--Tricube Poems--ABCB Poem--

Today is Easter and I'm not writing. But I'll come back in later and fill in. So first is my other poem, then I'll put in my Tricube Poems.
Empty Birdhouse
I wish the tiny cactus wrens
Would come back to their nest
Where once the hatchings numbered three
Our barking dog did wrest

Their peace of mind, their quietude
The space to forage for their brood
Without the threat of doggy jaws
Snapping down on birdy food

His voice is loud, our little dog
But gentle is his doggy spirit
I doubt he'd eat your babes at all
Just wouldn't know to hear it.

You chatter so contentedly
Your work in twain complete
The babies wait while parents hunt
Then soon they are replete

I love to watch your industry
You careful, loyal, chatty things
You hop about and chirp so well
Bring calmness in your little wings

You can find the explanation of what a tricube poem is here. Because I'd never heard of one either.

From the grave
Jesus rose
Us to save

His life give
Sacrificed
That we live

We give back
Sacrifice
Hearts intact
