National Poetry Month--Day the First-Couplets--Holidays

This is the first day of Poetry Month! We're doing couplets today so if you want to learn what a couple is, go here. If not, here's my version:

HOLIDAYS

Why do days sneak up so fast

We haven't quite savored the last

It seems a birthday just comes 'round

Already we are present bound

April Fool's Day's already here

My bag of tricks is empty, clear

We might as well shop for December

In the first part of September

Maybe have one giant day

To celebrate stuff from yesterday

We're doing NewValPatsEastMemIndHalThanksChristmas

On Leap Day on a Norwegian isthmus!

(I wish)
