National Poetry Month--Day 3--Triplets--Dog Ball

 DOG BALL

Little dog you drop your ball

Wanting me to give my all

Catching it you take the fall

Why won't you drop it at my feet(h)

Instead I pull it from your teeth

Goop's over, sideways, and beneath

Drop that ball! I want to say

We can have such lovely play

We'll be like this all blasted day

The dog just gives his child-like smile

And I can't withstand ev'ry wile

I'd throw for him a good long while
